Foundry strives to be one the most innovative distilleries in the industry and boasts many unique offerings including the Private Barrel Experience and Brewer/Distiller Alliance. \n\n Previously Scott founded Templeton Rye Spirits and over the course of a decade\, grew it into one of the largest Rye Whiskey brands in the world. His great- grandfather Frank Schroeder was an entrepreneur during Prohibition and was one of many farmers who found a way to keep their farm during the great depression by making Templeton Rye. Stories of his and other families' adventures producing and selling the Good Stuff drew Scott to resurrect Templeton Rye as a legal brand. \n\n Scott's previous work was in banking and venture capital. He spent 6 years with JP Morgan Chase in Chicago and New York\, where he was responsible for analyzing and structuring debt for companies ranging in size from Fortune 500 to small entrepreneurial businesses. Scott also worked for CommonAngels\, a technology-based angel investment firm located in Boston and considered one of the preeminent angel firms in the US. At CommonAngels\, Scott was responsible or analyzing business plans and performing detailed due diligence on prospective investments. \n\n A native of Wall Lake\, Iowa\, Scott is a 1997 graduate of the University of Iowa. Scott also earned an MBA from MIT's Sloan School of Management in 2004.
