Join us at Kathmadu Restauran
t on Monday, Januray 28
for a celebration of the rich cultural and culinary traditions of Nepal, presented in collaboration with the Iowa Nepalese Association. The evening includes:
- A buffet dinner with both non-vegetarian and vegetarian options
- A hands-on culinary demonstration where you will learn to make Momo (delicious Nepali dumplings)
- Cultural exploration with CultureALL Ambassador Shweta Agrahari and members of Central Iowa's Nepalese community.
A cash bar will also be available. Traditional attire is encouraged, but not required.
If you've never tried Nepali cuisine, Taste of Nepal is a perfect opportunity. Not only will you be able to try a variety of different dishes, but the chef will be on hand to help explain what's on the buffet and how it's prepared. You'll also learn to make Momo – a traditional steamed dumpling that is a staple of Nepali cuisine. You'll be able to make a few dumplings that you can take home and cook – along with a recipe so you can make more. And you'll be able to sample some professionally prepared Momo as part of your meal.
As with all of our Guess Who's Coming to Dinner
gatherings, proceeds from this event support CultureALL education programs. Your donation helps send CultureALL Ambassadors into schools and organizations around the community to share their cultural traditions with community members of all ages. Through these programs, the Iowans learn to better understand and value the cultures of others and discover the many ways that the people of these cultures enrich our community.
Seating for this gathering is limited - get your tickets today!
