Mechanic Technician

Position Overview: The Mechanic Technician at our renowned auto shop is a key role responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles to the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance. This position requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional automotive services. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Diagnostic Expertise: Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues in vehicles. 

  • Repair and Maintenance: Perform a wide range of mechanical repairs, including engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, and other systems. Conduct routine maintenance tasks to ensure vehicle longevity and performance. 

  • Parts Replacement: Remove, repair, or replace faulty parts, components, and systems. Ensure accurate installation and alignment of replacement parts. 

  • Collision Repair Assistance: Collaborate with the auto body repair team to address mechanical aspects of collision-damaged vehicles. 

  • Alignment and Calibration: Conduct alignment and calibration procedures for components such as tires, wheels, sensors, and safety systems (e.g., ADAS). 

  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing and validation after repairs to ensure proper functionality and safety compliance. 

  • Documentation: Keep detailed records of repairs performed, parts used, and diagnostic findings. Maintain accurate and organized documentation for reference and compliance purposes, as well as using the mobile estimating app and taking all supplement photos. 

  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, guidelines, and industry standards to ensure the safety of technicians, customers, and vehicles during repair procedures. 

  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on evolving automotive technologies, repair techniques, and industry trends through continuous education and training. 

  • Registered with I-Car and Have Current I-Car training and working to I-Car Platinum. 

  • Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with service advisors, mechanics, and other team members to facilitate a seamless repair process. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent; formal automotive technician training or certification is preferred. 

  • Proven experience as an automotive technician, with at least two years of relevant experience. 

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills, with proficiency in diagnosing and repairing various vehicle systems. 

  • Knowledge of automotive repair tools, equipment, and diagnostic software. 

  • Problem-solving abilities for identifying and resolving complex mechanical issues. 

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and record-keeping skills. 

  • Strong communication skills for interacting with team members and service advisors. 

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record. 

 

Physical Requirements: This role involves prolonged periods of standing, walking, and performing physical tasks related to vehicle repairs. It may also require occasional lifting of heavy objects and the ability to work in various positions within vehicles.
